One Powerful Tip That Can Change Your Life Today

Just give me a minute of your time

It’s Valentine’s Day and I’ve just listened to two hours of “Soft Rock of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s”.

This has made me feel…well, it’s a good day. And I realized I’m thinking of you and the advice I would like to give you. You probably don’t need it, but my parents gave me advice and some of it was very good. I even took some of their advice. And it was helpful.

So here’s mine to you:

DON’T WASTE A MINUTE!

Don’t. Waste. A. Minute.

Days go fast. Years go faster. And that is not a cliche.

The routine things that fill our days, the irritating quirks of others, the messy thoughts of the day — all of these and more, count for nothing. What counts are our relationships.

Even the arguments don’t matter. Unless the discussion is about something extremely important (and not much is), don’t focus on that. Focus on the person.

Someone said when you’re having an argument, think about what is important; is it vital to be right, or is the relationship central to your life?

Don’t waste a minute.

You have to do some of the daily mundane routine, but you don’t have to change a good person into someone you would like more. You don’t have to clean house on a day that’s good for hiking or biking.

Don’t waste a minute.

And we’re not talking big stuff here. Not trips, or entertainment, or lifetime adventures. Most of the minutes we waste are daily. We could have complimented instead of making a sarcastic remark. We could have opened up instead of keeping our feelings to ourselves. We could have asked for that six second kiss.

Don’t waste a minute.

Spend some minutes listening to good music. Spend several minutes kissing. Spend some minutes buying flowers.

I’m not going to waste another minute; I’m going back to listening to “Soft Rock of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s”. And kissing.
